While performing hazardous salvage, rescue and towing operations off Okinawa, came to the aid of many damaged ships including USS Dickerson (DD-157/APD-21) on April 2,1945, USS Evans  (DD-552) on 11 May 1945, and USS Longshaw (DD-559) on 18 May 1945.
