| Roll
Call
We often incorporate "Roll Call" appendices in
our books. Roll Call appendices list (usually by ship,
squadron or unit), the names of veterans who participated in the historical
events covered by the books. It is our effort at recognizing and honoring
the lives, sacrifices and legacies of the men and women who literally "made
history."
As one example, the Roll Call Appendix in
At War with the Wind
contains the names of more than 800 U.S. Navy veterans (both living and
deceased) representing 177 U.S. Navy ships and craft.
We rely on veterans and their families to supply the
information included in the Roll Calls included in our books
Our forthcoming book
Such Men as These
will include two
appendices:
-
Ready Rooms honors U.S. Navy and U.S.
Marine Corps aviation squadron personnel (aviators, air crewmen and
squadron support personnel), living and deceased, who deployed with
air groups (usually aboard aircraft carriers) assigned to U.S. Navy Korean
War task groups during the period of the conflict (June 1950 to September
1953). Ready Rooms will list the names of these veterans (insofar
as possible) by air group, squadron, carrier and deployment period.
- Roll Call honors U.S. Navy officers
and sailors, living and deceased, who served aboard ships (including
aircraft carriers) assigned to U.S. Navy Korean War task groups during the
period of the conflict (June 1950 to September 1953). Roll Call will
list the names of these veterans by ship.
The Ready Room and Roll Call appendices have now
been completed and are posted . To view an appendix, click on
